BIO

Armand Montiel is a San Diego based artist from Tijuana, Mexico. He began painting in 2014 with acrylics on wood and canvas specializing in portraits working on commissions for people and eventually painting for group art shows at “La Bodego” in Barrio Logan, Ca. in the coming years. A few years later oils, pastels, and watercolor were mediums used to create paintings changing his style of portrait with surrealism paintings of landscapes and animals.

In 2008 he learned how to tattoo at a local tattoo shop in his home town in Chula Vista California and studied the art of tattooing during that year. His painting style is constantly changing and is leaning more toward surrealism with landscapes so expect new themes in his work to come.

My first tattoo. 2018. I am currently practicing and looking for skin to practice on. Contact me and book an appointment.

I discovered early on when I began painting that it kept me from spending time with my family so I made sure to get them involved in any way I can. Fun fact: Most of my paintings are created as a father and son collaboration as I have my son add paint to help create the art piece.
